Diy: Jessie Inspired Minnie Mouse Ears

When we made the final decision on going to Disney World I knew right there and then that I wanted to make my own Minnie Mouse Ears. I was all about cutting the cost on things for the trip and Minnie Ears was one. When we decided on the parks that we were going to I knew exactly what I wanted my Minnie Ears to be. Now I already had a set of Minnie Mouse ears that I had purchased from Party City for

Ayden's Roadster Racer Party

which made the perfect template for my DIY.

|What You Need|

Fabric

Bow

Ribbon

Head Band

Sicsors

Fabric Glue

Hot Glue Gun

Needle & Thread

Pencial

Cotton Balls

Step One

You will need to make your ears first so use something round to trace out the ears. I folded the fabric in half and I used the Minnie Ears that I already had and laid it on top of the fabric. I then lightly traced the ears and cut them out.

Step Two

Once the ears were cut out I then took some cotton balls and pulled them apart and shaped them to fit the ears. Its up to you how full you will like them to look. Now I will say I tried to use the fabric glue to seal the edges of the ears but the brand I had was not working as good as I thought it would. Thankfully I had a needle and thread so I made a stitch all the way around the ears to close them up. I actually Like this option better because it gave the ears some character.

Step Three

Now that your ears are all done you can attach the ears to the head band. The head band was a navy blue fabric covered head band so I placed the ears where I wanted them and then used the hot glue gun to attach the ears to the head band. Because I wanted to make sure the ears would be secure I decided to go back in with the needle and thread and just make a stitch on the ends of the ears onto the headband.

Step Four

Next is the bow. You can either buy a bow hair clip or you can buy ribbon and make you own bow. The bow I used was one of those big cheerleader bows. You can find these anywhere. Walmart has them for $1.oo in the craft section. Or if you have a little girl you can always see what she has already. Using the hot glue gun I glued the tails of the bow behind the bow and then I hot glued a small piece of another color ribbon in the center. I then glued the center down to the head band and held it firmly to make sure it stayed secure.  I also put a small dot of glue on the ears and pressed the bow down to secure it.

Step Five

Put on your Ears and Enjoy all the Disney Magic!!!

I absolutely had so much fun making these and I love how my Jessie Inspired Minnie Ears came out.

I have to say I wore these on our trip and they held up pretty well, and I also got a ton of compliments on them.

Hope you enjoyed this post and if you try this DIY please share your end results with me. I would love to see them.
