Our Family DIY Chirstmas Photo Shoot

Happy Friday!  A few weeks ago we decided to do our own photo shoot.  We have not taken any family pictures since my maternity pictures for Ayden and he is now 18 months (1yr) and there are no pics of us as a family in our home. I know that's really bad.  But honestly photographers can be pricey and we just haven't had the time or money to book a session.  So when I brought up the idea to my husband he was totally on board with the idea. He did say it can go great or be a total bust. Which I was prepared for already
.

I immediately turned to Pinterest for some inspiration and different prop set ups. I then went through our Christmas decorations to see what we could use for the shoot. I also hit up the dollar tree for a few more items.  Most of the props we already had so I didn't need to purchase to much. I wanted to keep it simple. I then choose the location where I wanted to take the photos and we ended up going to a near by park. The weather was great minus a little wind which just made my hair crazy. lol I asked my mom and sister to help me out with taking the photos for us. The cameras that we used for the pictures were the Canon EOS T5 and the Nikon J4.  It was not easy trying to take pictures with Ayden. He wanted nothing to do with the pictures, snacks or props I had for him. And that was OK with us. We captured what we could. That was another reason why I didn't want to book a photographer. Sometimes you just don't know what kind of day your baby is going to have even after making sure they napped and ate.  He just was not having it. I was really surprised on how the pictures turned out considering his lack or participation. lol Here are a few from our shoot. I definitely used my favorites for our Christmas cards. Hope this gives you inspiration to do your own photos if your on a budget.
